Jordanian authorities arrested on Saturday a mentally ill man, who is responsible for attempting to set several mosques on fire around Amman.

A security source said that the police had received several phone calls over the past two weeks, with complaints about a man who entered several mosques, vandalized them and set them on fire, causing minor damages to them before they were quickly contained.

An investigation into the incidents in ongoing, while the offender will be dealt with according to the law, the source noted.
